I've written about <a href="http://madamenoire.com/541728/meal-prepping/">meal prepping</a> before and I'm pretty sure the main thing I left out of that article was that the practice is a pain in the butt. A necessary pain, but a pain nonetheless. The good news is I've found something to ease that burden and cut my cutting time in half.

Though my reasoning for meal prepping is to stay/get back on the weight loss straight and narrow, preparing meals, either in their entirety or partially, before actually cooking is a great, time-saving practice to introduce into your weekly routine for a lot of reasons. Most of us don't want to cook every single night -- especially if you have a family -- so making at least half a week's worth of meals on a Saturday or Sunday makes Monday-Wednesday a breeze after work. And if you hate leftovers, you don't have to cook meals in their entirety beforehand, just having all of your meats seasoned and veggies chopped prior to getting home can save you a huge amount of time in the kitchen. With it, you can slice, julienne, grate, spin, and separate your way to great meals with just one simple device.
Last week, I was getting ready to make mini veggie pizza, a meal that's actually pretty easy and quick to execute on its own, but I can't lie, the idea of chopping up red peppers, green peppers, onions, and tomato was getting to me. I knew the smart thing to do would be to cut up all my veggies ahead of time so I could just coat my individual dough with olive oil and tomato paste each night when I came home would be the smart thing to do, but I had no desire to do it. And then I remembered the handy little slicer I had and thought, perhaps it's time to whip that sucker out.
*Insert more assumptive whining about how long putting together this so-called miracle device would take* and five minutes later I'd already had every blade grater, spinner, lid, and bowl out of its package, cleaned and ready for use. After washing my peppers, I cut them in fourths to fit through the lid I placed on top of the no-skid bowl, and simply turned the handle a few times clockwise and counterclockwise and my peppers were diced and ready for consumption.

The process literally could not have been simpler. After chopping the peppers I needed for the day. I went ahead and chopped the rest of my green and red peppers separately and placed them in containers to use for the rest of the week. I followed the exact same steps with an onion for the shrimp stir fry I made yesterday and cleanup was insanely easy. Rinse and wash bowl, blade, and lid, then dry.

I haven't had a chance to use the graters yet simply because the bowl chopping has been so simple, as is spinning salad to get just the right amount of dressing on every bite. The time this super slicer has saved me is more than I could ask for from an $11 device.
